2 Thessalonians 3:13-18 "Relationship Matters"

2 Thessalonians 3:13-18

¹³ But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary in doing good. ¹⁴ And if anyone does not obey our word in this epistle, note that person and do not keep company with him, that he may be ashamed. ¹⁵ Yet do not count him as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother. ¹⁶ Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all. ¹⁷ The salutation of Paul with my own hand, which is a sign in every epistle; so I write. ¹⁸ The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

2 Thessalonians 3:7-12 "Follow Me"

Pastor Rick Barnett goes through the example of hard work that the Apostle Paul and his companions had set for the Thessalonians to follow in. He then connects the importance of this for us today and why we are also to follow in Paul's and his companions example. Hope your blessed through it!

 

2 Thessalonians 3:7-12:

"For you yourselves know how you ought to follow us, for we were not disorderly among you; ⁸ nor did we eat anyone’s bread free of charge, but worked with labor and toil night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you, ⁹ not because we do not have authority, but to make ourselves an example of how you should follow us.

¹⁰ For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat. ¹¹ For we hear that there are some who walk among you in a disorderly manner, not working at all, but are busybodies. ¹² Now those who are such we command and exhort through our Lord Jesus Christ that they work in quietness and eat their own bread.

2 Thessalonians 3:7-12 "Will Work for Food"

Pastor Rick Barnett teaches through Paul's warning against idleness in Thessalonians 3:7-12. It's a reminder to us as a church to be great examples through hard work and doing good. Hope your blessed through it!

2 Thessalonians 3:6-7 "Conduct Unbecoming"

Pastor Rick Barnett goes through Paul's command to the Thessalonians to, once again, not walk in idleness. This time he tells the church to keep from brothers who are walking in idleness and instead follow in the example they seen and know of from Paul. Hope your blessed and built up as your listening!

"But we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw from every brother who walks disorderly and not according to the tradition which he received from us. ⁷ For you yourselves know how you ought to follow us, for we were not disorderly among you;"

2 Thessalonians 3:1-5 "Paul's Prayer Request"

2 Thessalonians 3:1-5:

"Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you, ² and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men; for not all have faith.³ But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one. ⁴ And we have confidence in the Lord concerning you, both that you do and will do the things we command you.⁵ Now may the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the patience of Christ."

Thessalonians 2:15-17 "The Loved Ones" (Part 2)

Pastor Rick continues to unfold Paul's desire for the Thessalonians to stand firm, amist false teaching of Jesus' second coming, in the traditions and teachings that has been given to them. He closes truths of God's great love, comfort, and hope he gives through Jesus Christ.

2 Thessalonians 2:15-17:

"Therefore, brethren, stand fast and hold the traditions which you were taught, whether by word or our epistle. Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting consolation and good hope by grace, comfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and work."

2 Thessalonians 2:13-14 "The Loved Ones" (Part 1)

Pastor Rick Barnett preaches through 2 Thess. 2:13-14, expounding on the contrast between we who are saved and unbelievers talked about in the previous verses. He encourages us to be people who are grateful for having recieved the truth, saved, and who will obtain glory.

 

2 Thessalonians 2:13-14:

¹³ "But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth, ¹⁴ to which He called you by our gospel, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ."

2 Thessalonians 2:8-12 "The Lawless One" (Part 2)

Pastor Rick continues in 2 Thessalonians teaching through the Lord's coming and the events to come.

2 Thessalonians 2:8-12:

⁸ "And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. ⁹ The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, ¹⁰ and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. ¹¹ And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, ¹² that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness."

Romans 12:1-2 "The renewal of our minds"

Guest speaker, Pastor Bob Haag, preaches on Romans 12:1-2. He recaps the mercy of God through chapers 1-11 of Romans and then elaborates on how Paul says the Romans and us today should live our lives in knowing and experiencing God's mercy through Jesus Christ.

Romans 12:1-2

"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. ² And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."
